The sirens from the ambulance and the patrol car sang in the air. The people around the area were curious as they came to see what was happening. They were crowding around the scene, talking to each other about what had happened.
Inside the circular crowded people, the ambulance workers were tending a badly injured girl and a man. The girl had injured her head and her right leg was fractured. The man had only bruises on his arm. His look was in regret as he stared at the fragile unconscious girl in front of him.
At the police station
The look on the officer’s face was as serious as the yakuza’s boss. His fingers were dancing on the table giving the sound of wood that were knocked. “I was at the restaurant when the accident happened and my seat was just beside the transparent window,” a guy who witnessed the accident told him in anxiety as he looked at the fierce looking officer in front of him. “The girl was walking and then from nowhere, she was struck by the falling man and she really looked like she hit her head too hard on the nearby street lamp.”
“I still haven’t got the identity of the girl. She did not bring anything with her even her handbag is not at the accident area,” the cop said in despair. “The man admitted that he was about to go on suicide however his attempt failed as he endangered a girl instead of himself,” the cop explained again. “His name is Fatah Al-Hayat, the heir of the Antique Moon Winkel Company. I don’t understand why the rich people want to suicide… they are considered as the happiest creature on earth.”
At the hospital
“I’m sorry, Mr. Hayat. Her left brain is damaged. I cannot guarantee that she’ll remember anything from her past. The left brain contain many information and memory and I’m afraid that I can’t do much about this,” the specialist doctor said intently in Arabic language. He was wearing a pair of big round glasses and white lab coat. The doctor and the man who was standing in front of the ward were gazing through the E.R. as the beeping sound of the oscilloscope travelled through the air. The doctor scanned the man in front of him, seeing the regret in light hazel eyes.
“This is all my faults. I couldn’t think straight back then… oh, God. Now I was about to kill another girl…” the man said regretfully. "I shouldn't follow my heart...", he whispered as he shook his head. "Will you excuse me, doc? I really want to see her condition," he turned to look at the doctor and tried to give a smile but failed. He walked trough the E.R. door and saw the fragile looking girl. He wondered why did it take so long for the girl to wake up from the silent slumber but then he realised that the girl was fighting between life and death. Her head was bandaged and her right leg was hang with a white clothe. At first glance, people definitely would say that she really is in a bad condition.
Hayat stared at her with an empty expression. He was blaming himself for what happened. He waited there for hours, days and weeks until that day when she finally open her eyes from her miserable dreams.
Present day
"Shika, don't walk on that bricks... you might fall, you know..," Hayat expressed as he awas very worried if something happened to his beloved sister. He did not want anything or even a piece of paper to ever cut his precious sister.
Yushika giggled to the way Hayat treating her. He still treat her like a child. "Brother, need not worry, you should stop treating me like a child... we should've fun! Don't give me that funny look," she chuckled. Yushika then jumped from the bricks and ran around the park as if she was a bird that can fly freely in the sky. For her, it was not easy to spend some time with her brother as he was always busy with his work especially for the past few months. She was really grateful to have a kind-hearted brother like Hayat because whenever she got a fever, Hayat became really worried and tend to take a day or two off so that he can take care of her.
For Hayat, Yushika was like a light for him to build a new beginning, the colour to his dull life. He'd realised how precious Yushika is to him for the past few years after the incident. He had once told her how guilty he felt about what had happened but instead the fragile looking girl only asked if she could be his sister so that he won't feel guilty and lonely anymore.
Hayat caught Yushika's hand and held it gently, "Come, let's grab something to eat... I'm famished.." Hayat uttered as he dragged Yushika to the nearest cafe. He knew that his so called sister will listen to him. It was that day when she finally open her lids revealing her dark brown iris after a few weeks of slumber, Hayat cried in front of her. Though that time she was still in a bad shape, she just knew what to say to him and warmed his heart with her gentle smile. That day too, he told her why he decided to commit suicide. Since that day, Yushika depended on Hayat for living.
